The year got off to a great start with Years 3, 4 and 5 completing their swimming lessons and most children achieving either their 25m or their 50m, 83% of our current Year 6 children can confidently swim at least 25m.
Year 5 and 6 also received specialist rugby coaching from a team of visiting players and coaches from South Africa. This was followed up with specialist training in orienteering and karate.
Year 3 and 4 had similar expert training in hockey, Tri Golf, badminton and dance and KS1 thoroughly enjoyed their karate classes with Mark. Year 4 also did their Bikeability Level 1 in the Autumn term.

To make the very best of sporting capabilities we have invested in some new equipment. We have several large mats for gymnastic floor work and the teams from Key Step 1, 2 and 3 all have matching leotards and shorts.
We are currently reviewing, replenishing and replacing our sports equipment to make sure that everyone at Appleby Primary School has the opportunity to try and improve their skills in a broad range of sports.
EDEN DISTRICT NETBALL FINALS 2018
After months of delay (meaning more time to practice) our netball team went to the Eden District Netball Finals on 21st June and came 3rd! Well done to all the team for a fantastic result and thank you to Mrs Hearn & Sheila for running the After School Netball Club
