About Our School

Welcome to our website, we hope it gives you an insight into our vibrant school, it’s ethos, philosophy and organisation. We are always delighted to show visitors around personally, so please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a visit.

Appleby Primary School is a foundation primary school situated in the small town of Appleby, in the heart of the Eden Valley.  The school provides primary education for children aged from 3 to 11 years and helps to prepare pupils for a smooth transition to secondary education providers in the area.

We are proud of our strong links with the local community and are involved with many community events throughout the year; children are also encouraged to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world through visits both at home and abroad.

Our curriculum allows flexibility for children to follow their own interests within topics, and all class groups from Nursery to Year 6 have access to iPads to further enrich curricular opportunities.  Additionally, children are able to extend the curriculum through a wide variety of activities in sport, music, drama, and art and design.

We are an inclusive school and the integration of children with additional educational needs contributes towards the achievement of our aims for all children.
