Appleby Primary School is a foundation primary school situated in the small town of Appleby, in the heart of the Eden Valley. The school provides primary education for children aged from three to eleven years and helps to prepare pupils for a smooth transition to secondary education providers in the area.
The school is proud of its strong links with the local community and is involved with many community events throughout the year; children are also encouraged to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world through visits both at home and abroad.
Our curriculum allows flexibility so that children can follow their own interests within topics, and all class groups from Nursery to Year 6 have access to iPads to further enrich curricular opportunities. Additionally, children are able to further extend the curriculum through a wide variety of activities in sport, music, drama, art and design.
We are an inclusive school, and the the integration of children with additional educational needs contributes to the achievement of our aims for all children.
We hope this website gives an insight into our school, it’s ethos, philosophy and organisation. The school is always delighted to show visitors around personally, so please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a guided tour.
Mrs Pearson & Mr Caygill are taking the Year 6 children on their residential visit to Whitby, Scarborough & York from Monday 25th June to Wednesday 27th June. Hope you all have fun, we are looking forward to hearing all about it when you return!
